BUILT BY BEHUNEK

Matthew Behunek grew up in Fairfax Virginia. His father, an artist, graphic artist, and talented builder taught him the values of thoughtful design and hard work. Together they renovated a house into a modern masterpiece and doubled it's value.

In his teens Matthew volunteered for a company called Dangerous plants where he received hands on experience in a variety of rare and exotic carnivorous plants. This ignited his passion for plants. He also gained experience in edible landscaping and permaculture design.

He has been trained in plant propagation and herbaceous plants at Northern VA Community College's Horticulture school. He also has a Commercial Certification in Aquaponics from GreenAcre Aquaponics.

He ran a garden service business in the Tampa Bay area where he utilized all electric lawn and garden equipment as well as an electric car to provide the ultimate eco-friendly garden services.

He offered organic and natural fertilization and irrigation techniques to his customers.

He has worked for Bubba's Exotic Motorsports as an office manager, IT consultant, and Media Production Specialist.

​

He has worked an internship with RGF Environmental where he created a design for a Hydroponics Grow and Display room to show off their air and water treatment systems. He also completed an internship with UPS plant engineering where he gained valuable experience with the function of conveyor systems and the logistics of a major delivery operation.

​

Currently Matthew lives in the Tampa Bay area where he is a student at University of South Florida pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering. He hopes to advance the agriculture industry with more efficient indoor grow systems as well as increased automation in agriculture.
